Hello from Thomas Hook, President and Chief Executive Officer of Barnes, and Ian Reason, President of Barnes Aerospace! It is with great pleasure that we extend our warmest welcomes to you as we have successfully closed the MB Aerospace acquisition effective August 31st! Members of our leadership team will also welcome you with in-person, all-employee town hall meetings at all sites scheduled for today or September 1, 2023, where you will hear more about Barnes, Barnes Aerospace, and our future together.
As a member of the MB Aerospace team, you should be proud of the dedicated work you have contributed to building a strong company and your customers’ trust through your innovative products and highly regarded value-added services. MB Aerospace represents a strong strategic and complementary fit for Barnes as it continues to invest in, build out, and scale its Aerospace business. Bringing together Barnes Aerospace and MB Aerospace creates great value for both our teams and customers. We firmly believe that by joining forces through this acquisition, we will be stronger together and unlock new opportunities that will drive our collective success to greater heights.
Going forward, MB Aerospace will integrate into the Barnes Aerospace brand, and Ian Reason will lead the combined organization as President with support from leadership across Barnes Aerospace and legacy MB Aerospace management teams. This means that most of you will have no change to your day-to-day responsibilities and team.
We have established a cross-functional integration team to identify and leverage the best practices from both organizations as we bring our businesses together. This team will include representatives from both Barnes Aerospace and MB Aerospace organizations and be led by Jim Fitzpatrick, Vice President, Strategy & Business Transformation.
We intend to remain thoughtful and deliberate in our decision-making throughout the integration process. We are committed to providing you all with open and timely updates as things progress, as well as answering any questions you might have.
We are looking forward to working together as One Barnes Aerospace Team to position the combined businesses for future growth, profitability, and success.
